About me

Hi, my name is Yaman Ibrahim and I'm a design student in Creative Media, specializing in New Media. I'm from the Maldives and I decided to take up New Media because I've been interested in learning things like web design and app development. I've done some freelance graphic design work like logos and branding before, so I wanted to try something new.

I deferred last semester and rejoined for the Aug 2020 sem after a long break in the Maldives so I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. I only just got out of quarantine after coming back into Malaysia, so I'll hopefully be able to rejoin physical classes soon.

Outside of studying, I have a few hobbies:

You can usually find me online on Facebook or on Instagram here: @yamanism (I rarely ever post but I'm still active and I sometimes share art or design work that I find interesting)

Experience with Interactive Design

Seeing as we're only about two weeks into the semester I don't really have much to say on the subject, but I've enjoyed the lectures so far and I've already learned quite a lot.

I missed most of the second lecture as it was my last day of quarantine and I had to leave to do a blood test. I went through the lecture on Facebook right before writing this so it's still quite fresh in my mind.

Completely unrelated to class, but here's a list of stuff I snacked on while sitting in on lectures during quarantine:

  1. Cup noodles
  2. Potato chips
  3. Koko Krunch
  4. A ton of bananas

Expectations for Interactive Design

I'm really enjoying the subject material so far because these are things I've been meaning to study for a long time. Generally speaking, by the end of the semester I'd like to be able to:

  1. Have a general understanding of HTML and CSS and how they work
  2. Learn the basics of building websites that are simple but interesting
  3. Learn more about UI/UX design

I'm particularly interested in getting into UI/UX design later so I hope this class will give me a better understanding of what to expect.
